Class schedule consists of 21 days of class consisting of 120 hrs of contact the student has 6 months to complete their project. 6SigmaTek will provide mentoring and coaching during the project tenure.

Certification Criteria for Students:

  • Complete company project or approved exercise
  • Present and pass all phase Tollgates
  • Complete 100% of homework
  • Attend 80% of classes
  • Pass 80% of all quizzes
  • Complete the certification test with a score of 80%

Prerequisites for attendees:

  • Basic Algebra skill
  • MS Excel
  • Visio 2003 minimum
  • MS Power Point
  • Comfortable with loading software from the internet
  • Basic computer skills
  • Must have a company approved project with sponsorship from the company
  • Portable Thumb drive for data transfer
  • Laptop with CD drive

Prerequisites for companies sending participants:

  • Must ensure that the intended participants have a formal company project with clear objectives and financial savings

Topics for the Define Phase:
In Define the participant will use tools that will define the purpose of the project , goals of the project, understand from a customer's perspective what is important, and complete a Value Stream Map that will show how the current process affects the customer. Also the student will define Value, understand what going Green is, and quantify why the project is taking place.

Topics for the Measure Phase:
In Measure the participant will be able to gather data from the current process and determine capability, complete graphical analysis of the data, define the total cost of a defect. Determine what the root causes are of the defect, predict future performance of the process based on the data. Also calculate the process efficiency, lead time of the process, and calculate the Takt time of the process. The student will begin to understand how to investigate Green opportunities.
